WENDY PFERD TOD MEXIKO mit RDEcA RAKETA & Natascha Gangl (SI / AT)
“Wendy Goes to Mexico” is the book debut of playwright and theatre maker Natascha Gangl. The electroacoustic duo RDEČA RAKETA (Maja Osojnik and Matija Schellander) will compose a listening experience and sound painting on the basis of this text material, using field recordings, analogue electronics, tapes and acoustic as well as electronic instruments. The three artists share both a thematic and formal connection. Language becomes sound and sound becomes language. A dense gestalt is woven from the fragmentary. The whole emerges from disparate parts. Counter-voices, opposites and dissonances find their way to one another and begin to sound. Alienation leads to new interpretations. Beginnings take root in that which was lost. Temporal structures are challenged and juxtaposed through looping techniques, while field recordings from Mexico interact with Osojnik’s vocalisations. Spoken word mutates into the melodic, while noise morphs into bittersweet (jolly) ranchers.
