Osmotic Imagination presented by Matt Mottel; feat. Kevin Shea & Ron Stabinsky (US)
In the intermedial project “Osmotic Imagination”, an environment is created using projections of digitally altered photographs featuring cultural and political motifs. The photos were taken by Matt Mottel’s father Syeus Mottel in the USA of the 1960s. To complement this contemporary “cinema of images”, Matt Mottel, Kevin Shea and Ron Stabinsky conjure a corresponding sonic world with synthesizers, percussion and electronic sound sources. Images of figures such as Martin Luther King Jr. , John Cage and Ornette Coleman, or from cities like San Francisco, Washington DC and New York City, are not simply pinned up to be exhibited on a wall; instead, they melt into one another in the dream-like audio-visual interaction of projection and soundscape.
Admission to this event is free of charge. We ask however that you have understanding for the fact that the number of seats is limited.
