The 3rd instalment of the hybrid @the same time series, featuring two acts performing at the same moment on two different stages and fusing their output into a sonic hyper-object, also promises to be a thrilling aural adventure. At Rodelberg, we'll be hearing Joe Grass Kim on Pedal Steel Guitar as he engages in a duo only he can hear on headphones, inspired by the extraordinary sounds of the omniwerk, a unique hybrid keyboard instrument in its own right. Meanwhile, in the Festival Hall, Aki Rissanen will be immersing himself in the sounds of the gayageum, related distantly to those of his own instrument, as he improvises on the omniwerk in the same "private duo" manner. The moers community can enjoy the fruits of their fourth-dimensional musical collaboration shortly thereafter, in moersland(VR), from Monday, 29 May. The neuronal linking of these two sound worlds is almost certainly a world-wide first!
