Pharmakon (US)

Margaret Chardiet learned to trust her intuition at an early age. Growing up in New York City and immersing herself in the local music and art scene, she was captivated by the city's cultural energy. At just 16 years old, she made the bold decision to fully dedicate herself to the arts, giving birth to the project that would become known as Pharmakon. Now, 17 years later, the project itself is in its teenage years, constantly oscillating between LIB-ER-A-TION and new beginnings. Chardiet's punk rock roots, where she was already a part of several bands, are ever-present in her work. The melding of harsh sound and electronics creates a symbiosis that comes alive through Chardiet's electrifying solo performances. The music of Pharmakon has even found its way into films such as Transfiguration (2017) and Sound of Metal (2019).
