An ominous silence is spreading – funding is disappearing, programs falling silent. Who will emerge victorious from the next extra rarefied financing round? And who will go away empty-handed? But the hush is not universal. Some are loud. Others remain unheard. Whose loud calls reverberate in the silence? Who is heard, who isn't – and who decides? And why don't we do something as a society when the silence of some can no longer be ignored? How do we make decisions as a society? What is important to us, what do we need to talk about, which wrongs and injustices do we need to call out? What do we want to preserve, what do we want to end, abandon or change? And what do we want to develop further? Social coexistence is always political. It's about money, justice, creation and organisation. And about who gets a seat at the table in the first place when we come together to talk. Deafening silence threatens to overwhelm us. Do we want to experience total silence?
