Wo die wilden Frösche klatschen

Bex Burch is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer from the United Kingdom. Her musical approach combines experimental improvisation, repetitive structures and influences from West African rhythmic traditions, which she deepened through extended stays in Ghana. At the centre of her work is often the balafon, which she places in a contemporary, open sonic context, complemented by voice, percussion and electronics.
Her projects move between composition and free improvisation and are often created in collaborative settings with musicians from different scenes. She is particularly interested in the interplay of rhythmic clarity, sonic reduction and spontaneous energy.
