The dear Duke Ceccaldi carried his singing cello through the land as others rode their steeds, and his three companions had hearts firmly in the right place. In twisted castles of sound, they tended intervals like rare herbs. On their journey to the County of Murs, they rode through rainbows of crackle and fire, laughing after golden candies of sound.
There they performed: Fulco, whose fingers sparked over the keys; Luis, whose strings lamented and rejoiced; and Étienne, the drummer, who foresaw the pulse. Their music burned on both sides — sweet as a love apple, bitter as a winter root. Those who listened glimpsed paths of stars or saw sprites dancing between the notes. The Duke felt his heart light and awake.
