In fairytales, evil is rarely abstract – it has teeth, a name, and a face. The wolf lurks in the forest; the witch waits in her seductive gingerbread house. Yet, our present day is haunted by these same archetypes: complex crises are explained away with simplistic narratives, and people are degraded in the process. 'Grey Wolves' and misogyny still prowl through our forests and our society today. Why do misanthropic worldviews resonate so strongly in the modern age? Which bogeymen are rattling the gates and nibbling away at a 'good life for all'? And why do these simple stories prove to be so treacherous?
