The moers festival turned the globe a bit cocky and hit the African equator blindfolded in the first attempt. With horror it realized that Equatorial Guinea of all places had no contact at all with the imaginary line, but that the landmass and islands were somehow scattered. However, with the rotation of the globe, our favorite ornithology book fell over, lying open with the pages about the black-tailed godwit and the avocet. Limosa Limosa was born - or was it the Pied Avocet? How nice that so many colorful birds travel from the equator to Holland and the Lower Rhine in summer. How nice that in winter they make themselves comfortable in the warmth south of the Sahara and even on Bioko. The black-tailed godwit secretly writes jazz rock operas in winter. And she uses the time at Bioko to tailor beautiful, colorful dresses for the summer. Whereby the Avocet itself is simply not a good ornithologist. Doesn't he even know Ikot, the colorful woodpecker? Or the Finnish seabird Szafirowski?
