Praised by The Wire for their ‘quick-witted imagination and breathtaking technique,’ the groundbreaking piano and tabla duo reunite for a very special performance. As an internationally unique partnership, their music draws on South Asian musical traditions, along with Western contemporary classical and jazz techniques, to create a sound like no other. Bringing their enormous warmth and sparkling musical chemistry to each rare performance, this remarkable duo traverse complex rhythmic cycles with radiant melodies, transcendent textures, and a spiritual sensibility.

XN is a partnership project between the Moers Festival and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (HCMF//) in the UK. The project focuses on improvisation and brings together genres such as jazz, free improvisation, composition, and electronic music, with a special emphasis on emerging artists.
HCMF//, the largest international festival for contemporary music in the UK, provides a platform for innovative programming, offering artists worldwide opportunities to present and develop their work. By fostering collaboration and artistic synergy, XN strengthens the European network of the new music scene.

XN is funded by the Gesellschaft zur Verwertung von Leistungsschutzrechten mbH (GVL) and Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL), with support from the Goethe-Institut.
