Tabula Sonorum Organum (PT / NL)

Tabula Sonorum is a duet featuring Dutch pianist and composer Bart van Dongen and Portuguese double bassist Gonçalo Almeida. Together, they explore the realm of improvised music, drawing heavily on minimalist influences to push the boundaries of traditional piano and double bass performance. Through various preparations and the use of unconventional techniques, the duo crafts a distinctive and diverse sonic palette.
For this particular concert, they will present Tabula Sonorum Organum, a variation in which the piano is replaced by a church organ, resulting in a powerful and singular musical experience. The deep, resonant tones of the double bass intertwine with the rich, majestic sound of the organ, producing a sense of grandeur and depth that lends a dramatic and spiritual quality to the performance.
